These special items of Champaran are in demand all over the world. But do you know that apart from Anandi Bhunja, a special Bhunja is prepared by mixing different types of rice, whose taste is the best and the way of eating is mouth-watering. Actually, this Bhunja is known as Navratna, which is prepared in Taravaliya village of Bagaha-2 block of the district.

Navratna Bhunja is prepared from a mixture of 9 rices.
Rajrani Devi, a resident of Taravaliya village, says that she has been roasting bhunja for the last 20 years. Her husband is a small farmer, who spares time to help in roasting the bhunja. Rajrani says that Navratna Bhunja is more special and delicious than Tharuhat’s Anandi Bhunja. Actually, compared to Anandi Bhunja, Navratna Bhunja contains a mixture of total 7 to 9 rice including Sona Mansuri, Basmati, Marcha and Anandi. Bhunja is prepared by roasting different types of rice and mixing them together. In such a situation their taste becomes unique.

Taste Navratna Bhunja with these things
Rajrani tells that to make this special Bhunja even more delicious, it is eaten with some special things. You will be surprised to know that it includes everything from sweet jaggery to spicy potato and tomato chokha, chilli pickle and onion. Actually, to make Navratna Bhunja tasty, it is eaten by mixing it with things like onion, chokha, pickle, jaggery and dalmot. According to Rajrani, Navratna Bhunja is prepared on the demand of the people. For this they have to collect different types of rice themselves.
